Theme (Title): A Living Hope
Speakers:
Peter
Hezekiah
Milwaukee UBF gathered to receive God’s word from 1 Peter, reflecting on how Jesus’ death and resurrection gives us living hope that impacts our whole perspective on life. Peter spoke on the living hope through Jesus’ resurrection and how, by the precious blood of Jesus, we are cleansed and called to live a holy life led by God’s enduring word. Through Hezekiah’s message, they were strengthened in faith, seeing that God had built them together as a holy temple, a royal priesthood, and a chosen people.
Milwaukee UBF could also prepare their hearts to be able to give a reason for the hope they have in Christ, even to unbelievers. God brought them together through Bible studies, praise, prayers, and testimony sharing, and they could see His life-changing work in one another. They also prayed for Eli, that he may shine the light of Christ in Japan, as he will leave to study there. Ultimately, Milwaukee UBF praises God for answering their prayers to have a meaningful time at their retreat. Even though some have gone through life-threatening depression and struggles, God lifted their eyes to Jesus, their living and enduring hope.
