- How did John respond to their questions in verses 20-21? Why do you think it was important that John clarified that he was not the Christ?
- V23. How did John answer them, what did John say about himself? What did John mean when he said: “I am the voice of one crying out in the wilderness, ‘Make straight the way of the Lord,’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”? (Isaiah 40:3-5)
- Why is it important to find our identity, message, and our calling/mission in the word?
- What does it mean to “make straight the way of the Lord”?
- Why is this an important step in the process of believing and seeing the Son of God?
- Why is it important for us to make straight the way of the Lord in our lives? Why is this a good message to share with others?
- V25-28. What question did they ask John in these verses? How did John respond?
- Why was John baptising with water? Why didn't they know the one who stands among them?
