To Us a Child Is Born

Isaiah 8:19-9:7

Key verse 9:6

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders.  And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.”  

Read 8:19-22.  Why did God have to humble the people of Galilee?  Why does God humble any person or nation; like African nations or America?  

Read verse 1-5.  Even though God humbled the people of Galilee, what plan did he have for them in the future?  Why did God promise light, joy and shattered burdens?

Read verses 6.  What does this verse tell us about the true meaning of Christmas?  How can Jesus be your Wonderful Counselor, Might God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace this Christmas?  

4.  Read verse 7.  How can we increase our peace?  What does it mean that Jesus’ government will have no end?
