Rest for the Weary

Matthew 11:25-30

Key verse 11:28

“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

Read verse 25-26.  Why did Jesus praise his heavenly Father at this time?  In what way were Jesus’ disciples like little children?  Why do you think the father revealed hidden things to the disciple, but not to the wise and learned?  

Read verse 27.  What things did the Heavenly Father commit to Jesus?  How can we know the Heavenly Father?  

Read verses 28-30.  What causes people become weary and burdened?  What promise did Jesus make to those who come to him?  What does it mean to take Jesus’ yoke?  Why is taking Jesus’ yoke the best way to learn from him?  What things does Jesus want us to learn through taking up his yoke?
