The Sign of the Son of Man

Matthew 24:15-35

Key verse 24:30

“At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky. All the nations on earth will be sad. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky. He will come with power and great glory.”

 Read verses 15-22.  What sign of the end did Jesus talk about in verse 15?  Why might this sign point to the end?  What instructions did Jesus give for those wanting to escape? How did Jesus describe the kind of suffering people would face?  Why would the time of suffering be shortened?

 Read verses 23-28.  What did Jesus warn about (24)?  How should believers treat the news about false Christs and false prophets?  How would they know when the real Christ came?  

 Read verses 29-35.  How will the nations react when Jesus comes again?  Why will they be sad?  How will Jesus come again?  What will he send his angels to do?  How can we trust the promise that Jesus is coming again?
