God & Money
Key Verse 13: No servant can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve God and money.”
Look at v.1-7. Who did Jesus speak this parable to? Describe the parable; what did the manager do wrong? What did the manager do with his remaining time? What was his reasoning?
Look at v.8. Who commended the dishonest manager; why? What does Jesus want “the sons of light” to realize? What practical action and change might Jesus want?
Look at v.9. What should we do with our time and resources during this age? Why? What do you think the difference is between “unrighteous wealth” and “true riches”?
Look at v.10-12. What does Jesus’ teaching here tell us about our life on earth? According to the passage, how can we be “faithful in unrighteous wealth”?
Look at v.13. Who are the two masters? How can we know which master we are serving? According to verse 13 why do we need to make a decision between two masters?
